Hillside Palm Tree Cleanup & Haul Away in Canyon Lake, CA

Some palms are a ladder job. These were not.

This Canyon Lake home sits up on a slope, and the fan palms out front had run up past the second story. From the street you mostly saw trunk, with the crown so far up you had to lean back to see it. Dead fronds had folded down and dried into a brown collar under the green, and the tops sat heavy and closed in instead of open and full. Underneath all that was a great set of palms, they just needed the buildup pulled off so the green could open back up.

Height is what makes these different. A frond coming off a palm that tall does not flutter down, it drops, and it lands on whatever is under it. Everything below these trees was slope, gravel and driveway, and dry fronds piling up on a hillside are the last thing you want.

So we worked them from up top, tree by tree. The dead collar came off, the tops got cleaned and opened up, and the green stayed green. It is tempting to shave a tall palm down to a pencil because it makes the next trim easier. We do not. That look is temporary and the tree pays for it for years.

Getting it cut is half of it. Everything we took off had to come down the slope, and it does not roll neatly. We packed it out, loaded it straight into the dump trailer at the curb, and cleared the gravel and the drive so nothing was left behind. The trailer left full and the property left clean.

The difference shows from down the street. Straight trunks running up clean, green tops sitting open instead of weighed down, nothing brown hanging over the hill, and a front yard that finally matches the house sitting above it. Palms this tall set the tone for the whole property, and cleaned up like this they are the best thing about the front yard.
